Purchase: Bought online from State Line Tack. It cost $550. I have been using a close-contact saddle I bought over 20 years ago, when I was 10 or 11. Needless to say, things have changed, including what I do - I compete in horse trials now, so I needed a (bigger!) saddle with a deeper seat that I can do dressage, cross-country and jumpers in.
Likes: The leather on the knee rolls and seat is soft and supple, and they're very well padded. The seat is very comfortable. Saddle is nice looking.
Fitting my older large pony has been difficult, his withers are not prominent, and he has some differences between his left and right sides. He also has a flat "sofa" back and the rear of saddles usually is made for more sloped backs, like Thoroughbreds. This one less so, although it's still not as flat as it could be for him.
Dislikes:
Quality: Very nice! Can't say how it will hold up, as I've only tested it briefly. Everything looks, even when looking closely, to be well made!
Summary: Overall a well made comfortable saddle at a good price.
