Purchase: I bought this saddle at the Dover retail store. My old Bates was much too large and not suited to the jumping I'd like to do. I paid $699, (as it retails for $1,225) on sale, including a matching bridle.
Likes: The leather! The leather is soft and supple, and broke in within a week. The seat and knee rolls were very soft, and the flaps were more stiff. I do not mind this, however. I expect durable flaps. It's got a beautiful wax finish which just adds to the quality of this saddle! The gullet and panels are very soft, I'm sure my horse is very happy with his new saddle! It's very balanced and I feel very secure. Unlike another review, I did not find the thigh block constricting. I found both the knee block and thigh block to be very helpful, in fact! I don't know how I rode without them. My trainer asked if this saddle was a $2000 saddle, I told her no! I prefer this saddle to an Anartes and many other "high end" saddles.
Dislikes: I did find that putting on stirrups was a little hard, but after reading another review and finding a trick- it's a piece of cake! There's nothing I don't like about this saddle.
Quality: EXTREMELY good quality. I've found the leather to be supple and easy to care for. It's durable- you don't worry about scratching the leather, as with softer leather saddles. I found beautiful finishes found in more expensive saddles.
Summary: I love this saddle. I'm all for purchasing another Circuit when the time comes! It's a smaller brand, but quality is fantastic. Dover Saddlery has many employees who helped me choose this wonderful saddle. Honestly, if you want a quality leather saddle that won't break the bank... the Dover Circuit Elite is calling your name!
