Purchase: Being an internet junkie, I found an ad for this pad on one of my many addictive classified sites. I paid $125 for it used (ouch!). Here's a bigger ouch ... the cost new is $269!
Likes: Well, I only think it's pretty but my horse will tell you she loves it. Perhaps not in words, but with an absolutely better ride and NO dry spots. Not one anywhere to be seen. After a ride, my mare's back is a vast ocean of sweat. The raised pressure relief spots on each side of the whither seem to do the trick. Let's not forget me, the person who spent the arm and a leg to buy this pad. I happen to find it very cool looking with the leather look. I always wanted a motorcycle. I can't have that, but this is the next best thing to wearing leathers (haha)!
Dislikes: My horse has no complaints. However, the lady I bought this from claimed that it's not a good pad for a saddle that already fits well. This pad will make a bad saddle fit well and a good saddle fit badly.
Quality: As much as I think this is a spiffy pad and my horse thinks it is God's gift to her, the construction is not as good as I'd like. The stitching is already coming out along the top seam. Very soon, I will have no choice but to try and find someone who can repair it. I'd like to see the company use a thicker stitch and plenty more of them.
Summary: How much do you value your horse's comfort? To me, it is priceless! Overall, this is a great pad for someone who wants shoulder relief for their horse.
