Purchase: Purchased at Greenhawk in Ontario, Oct 2008 on sale, for my OTTB. They are around $589. As a mature rider coming back to riding after being out of the sport for over 10 yrs. I wanted an easy to fit and care for saddle of reasonable quality and price. I also liked the fact they are still made in England unlike other popular synthetic saddles on the market.
Likes: This saddle fits him great. I purchased a medium gullet as it came with a wide. It was easy to put in with a standard screw driver, first time took me no more than 15 mins. This saddle is easy to adjust to the horse with 4 billet straps and Fish to fill in areas as needed. It has well padded flocked panels underneath for his comfort. I love the suede like material on the seat which helps me sit secure while I get back my confidence and seat. There are movable knee and thigh blocks to help fit your leg as well. I think this is one of the most comfortable saddles I have ridden in lately. Much nicer than any leather ones at the riding stable I've used. I love it!
Dislikes: Nothing.
Well, I find the flaps a tad long for my leg, I'm 5'.2" and my thighs are not as thin as they were years ago. :~(
Actually I quite like this saddle.
Quality: So far I have travelled around with it and used it in my lessons on a foundation QH, an Appendix and my TB gelding, plus a schooling show. It has no marks or dings yet. All is holding up well. Seems to be very well built.
Summary: I definitely would recommend this saddle to anyone who needs a dependable, comfortable, interchangeable saddle at a reasonable cost. Easy to maintain and care for.
