Purchase: I recently purchased this saddle at a deleted line sale at Saddlery Warehouse, NZ, for NZ$100 (RRP NZ$399)! I had been on the lookout for one since borrowing my friend's one over last summer to start my young horse and trail ride in.(Nearly cried when she took it home!!)
Likes: The price LOL. It fits more than one of my horses.It is a lightweight and fairly hardwearing synthetic saddle. This one is the next seat size (15") up which fits me better than my friend's. I think it is western sizing. I use a Wintec girth attached to Cashel converter billets instead of the nylon latigos that it came with. The seat is very secure over rough terrain or with the usual alarms and excursions a youngster will put you through!
Dislikes: I did n't like the horrid plastic oxbows it came with. I replaced them with caged safety stirrups. I also replaced the original rigging with english style (dressage die-hard!!)
Quality: These saddles can take a lot of punishment. I was pleased to get a new one, as I'd seen several 2nd hand ones for sale on-line which were pretty banged up, but around the same price. Construction is cordura/ synthetic suede and faux sheepswool lining. It is made in India and the workmanship is ok. I use a good pad as the saddle could rub my horse's spine with too thin a pad.
Summary: I was thrilled to get this saddle new for a 2nd hand price! My SB gelding goes very well in it and it is comfortable and secure. I am happy to start riding my youngster in it again soon.
