Purchase: I was in the market for a flex saddle to use on my TWH trail horse. After doing a search on the web, Dixieland Gaited Saddles seemed to be the logical choice. I had looked at many other name brand saddles, but couldn't afford them. When I saw the style, craftsmanship, and price I ordered mine. This was 2 1/2 years ago, and the price was only $800. It still looks almost new and rides the same way. My TWH really likes it too!
Likes: The looks of my saddle first got my attention being a two tone color. The way it was made with so much attention to detail kept my attention! It has several ways to rig the latigo, with numerous ties and rings to carry plenty of equipment. The seat is VERY comfortable and holds you firmly. The flex tree is very nice on me and my horse.
Dislikes: The weight is a little more than I would like, but that's a price I'm willing to pay with the quality!
Quality: This is a VERY high quality leather saddle!
The stitching is very tight and even. All seams are smooth and unobtrusive. The ties are of heavy but supple leather. The rings are of heavy brass. It looks very much like a Tucker, but without the price. The seat is very comfortable and hold you firmly. The endurance stirrups hold your feet in place with a nice thick pad to rest them on.
Summary: This saddle is great for anyone from a beginner to a pro. It is comfortable for hours on end. I have ridden it for 2 to 6 hours at a time with no soreness the next day for me OR my horse.
