Purchase: I acquired this saddle on-line at the Down Under website - used and paid about $790.
Likes: First of all, the saddle is beautiful, well made, (I had the campdraft previously and it never showed any wear), this saddle had some sun damage on the leather on one side. The saddle is extremely comfortable and flexible with all the places to tie things to such as the pad, saddle bags, etc. It worked great for my Arab and the poly's really helped me stay on. I also love the high back which also saved me a few times. This saddle NEVER slipped even when the girth became loose. I also purchased the wool pad which seemed very comfortable and cool. this was my dream saddle.
Dislikes: I had to sell the wild arab and settle into a TWH. My wonderful saddle does not fit at the withers and apparently makes my horse VERY sore at the back. His back is high, withers are high and narrow and barrel is wide. Harumph!
Quality: As much as I've used this USED saddle - except for the previous sun damage it shows no wear. The leather is soft, no squeak, no repairs- looks great. I will miss this saddle!
Summary: I would highly recommend this saddle to anyone concerned with staying in the seat, quality, comfort, durability and ...did I mention how light it is? I can reposition the saddle on the back very easily. Easy to tighten, hard to over tighten. This is a great, light, beautiful , comfortable and durable saddle.
