Purchase: I got two of these fabulous boots from Valley Vet Supply, for $59.95 each, because my fat Arab developed laminitis on one front foot. He was only lame in the one, but because founder was suspected, we radiographed both fronts. There was rotation in only that one, but I feared because he was so sore the other foot would suffer too much stress while we corrected the problem. We put corrective shoes on him, both feet, and that helped some, but he was still so tender. Keeping him stalled for too long only made him more sore, but light turn out caused the sole to bruise after more than an hour. Desperate, I bought these boots - I'd try anything to make my poor guy comfortable. Well, they are a miracle. Fit perfectly right out of the box, they have a nice pad installed that conformed beautifully to the (strange half shoes). My horse went out into the paddock and within minutes was walking sound. Felt so good he even tried a little trot; still lame there, but it's been over a week now, and he's trotting around occasionally happy and steady, hardly any limp at all. I keep them on only when he's out, barefoot in the stall. This is the first time he's been happy and hopeful since late July this year, these boots alone made more of a difference than the shoes, the feed change, the antibiotics, Bute, Remmision, everything. I can't say enough good things about this boot!

Likes: EVERYTHING! It's not supposed to be used over shoes they say, but I have to have these open toe/sole rim plates on him because of the rotation of the pedal bone. I can see no undue wear on the foot pad in the boot - it shaped to the whole foot and shoe, and the whole thing comes back in the evening looking like I just took it out of the box. My horse loves them so much he actually helps me put them on! Honestly, he hands me his foot, and expertly slips his foot in, sighs in contentment! It has air vents, so his feet, while they do sweat a little, do not chafe or show any signs of rubbing anywhere, not the coronet or pasturns. This is the best therapy boot I've ever seen, good bye to duct tape, Davis boots, whatever!

Dislikes: There is nothing I don't like about this boot. Too bad it's not for riding, only light turn out, but hey - I'll take it! My guy isn't ridable now anyway, and being able to let him turn out like nature intended to roam around a small pasture with a muzzle on most of the day is only helping speed up his recovery. YAY for Easyboot! They've come a LOOOOONG way since their beginning forays into this field of foot covers.

Quality: Superb. Heavy duty nylon I think, with thick, tough rubber soles. Light tread - these are not for riding, only gives simple traction for wandering in pastures. Boot has three air vents, Hook and loop closures, fold down heels for easy put on and take off. Not clunky, horse adapts to them VERY well, learns to love them! I don't know how long they'll hold up, I'm hoping my horse will recover soundness before long, so who knows, these boots might last forever if I only use them from time to time for lost shoes, abscesses, stone bruises.

Summary: Get these boots! At least have one always on hand!!!!! You'll find some use for it, and will be glad you did, they are truly a miracle for founder or bruised soles!
