Purchase: This saddle was purchased through ebay for 250.00 because I needed a good sturdy saddle to ride my horse with.
Likes: Quality, it's not one of the most expensive Australian saddles out there but it reeks of good craftsmanship and quality leather and fittings. Brass fittings and stirrups are wonderful, double stitch leathers with lining and extra thick leather throughout. The one I bought hasn't got a horn but it doesn't hinder the ride at all, as a matter of fact I like it without so I can reach my horse and have closer contact with him. The fenders are a bit different from a western saddle but again give you closer contact in which the horse responds better to my leg cues.
Dislikes: So far the only thing I can think of is the weight and the leathers (too long built for men) which I had to replace because I couldn't shorten them anymore, I'm fairly short and it's about 30 lbs. which makes it hard to lug around, but really I don't hold it very long, just to put it on and take it off the horse, NOT a back breaker. I really do love having this saddle, it's great for the first time Aussie buyer!
Quality: The quality is very good for the price paid. I haven't had any problems with the quality.
Summary: Overall an excellent choice saddle for long trail rides and closer contact to your horse. Packs well with all the extra fittings. Great product.
