Purchase: I purchased the Likit Bordom Breaker from Dover Saddlery for about $50 to entertain my stall bound mare. The refills are $4-$5.
Likes: The boredom breaker definetly helped save the sanity of my horse that was confined to her stall for 3 months after a spinal fusion surgery. I first hung the toy from an eye hook on the wall, but she quickly learned how to lick the treats out too quickly bracing it against the wall. I have since moved it to hang in the middle of her stall which slows her down somewhat. I've tried most of the flavors and she seems to like them all, plus they are vitamin enriched treats. You can refill the side "pockets" with smaller lickits and also the top which holds a larger likit or an apple. I highly recommend this toy for your horse - it keeps them very entertained.
Dislikes: The top refill Likit is a bit tough to get out of the plastic packaging, but scissors or pliers makes it easier. The refills can get expensive if your horse develops an addiction.
Quality: The boredom breaker is constructed of plastic. It is a combination toy that includes a Likit Holder (made up of two spacers to hold the Likit or apple in place and a nylon rope) which is attached to a ball that has inserts for two Little Likits. The clip at the end of the rope makes it easy to take off and refill.
Summary: My horse gets so excited when I take the toy down to refill it (nickering and circling her stall). How can I deprive her of something she enjoys so much! It is now her Saturday afternoon entertainment.
