Purchase: I needed either a used dressage saddle or a cheaper new one. I really wanted a deep seat and semi big knee rolls since my horses gaits are difficult to sit. However, every saddle I looked at was $2,000 or more even in very conditions. One of my friends at the barn had a really nice saddle that I liked the looks of but I guessed it was really expensive. I rode in it twice and decided to check it out on the internet and was shocked when I found out how much they were new. I looked at a bunch of sites to try to find the best deal on a new one and finally found Horseswest.com. They sell them new for 935.55 with free shipping and it comes with 2 saddle covers and a name plate. In the end I paid 1,012.73.

Likes: I LOVE this saddle! It feels like it's already broken in the first time you use it, it's not the normal squeaky new type of saddle. The seat is deep but it doesn't feel like it's sucking you into the horse. You can easily post the trot in it as well as sit. The knee blocks keep your leg in the proper position but aren't bulky which is nice. Only 2 weeks after getting my saddle, I showed in it which everyone told me not to do but it wasn't uncomfortable at all.

Dislikes: The ONLY thing I kinda sorta don't like is that when you first get the saddle, the leather is a little stiff as well as the billets. I just conditioned it and rode in it a few times and it softened right up.

Quality: The saddle is built fabulously. No dislikes on that.

Summary: Overall it's an amazing saddle for the price. My trainer wants to buy one now and insists on riding my horse in it on the days that she rides him (she ALWAYS rides in her own saddle). I'm always going to buy Saint Lourdes saddles from now on (I'm saving up for their cross country saddle).
