Purchase: I bought this saddle at Saddle Up in Redmond Oregon four years ago, I paid 1095.00 but most of that was a trade for a bob marshal that didn't fit my Quarter horse or my behind...My horse is very hard to fit and nothing seemed to work so I went back to Circle Y, I have an old one that I had used for 20 some years and it always fit everything I put it on.
Likes: The best part of this saddle is that I ride several different horses everyday and it fits them all. I was selling a horse and some of the girls rode up and wanted to try him, so I let they take him out in the arena, one left on him and when they came back the other one was on him. They were impressed with my saddle so then they all wanted to try it out. I was offered 1700.00 for a saddle that I paid 1095.00 for 2 years before and I turned them down flat. A good saddle is so hard to find and my saddle has that wonderful roll around the back that seems to keep my bottom in place when my horses are going mach 5 around a barrel. That is worth any amount of money in my book.
Dislikes: NOTHING I love my saddle.
Quality: This saddle is lite and I have never had any problems with anything on it. It has held up to a lot of hard use. I train colts in it, go to the mountains to ride all day and this is the saddle I ride. I even brakeaway rope in it. I use this saddle for everything I do and it never slips or moves on my horses, up, down or at any pace I want to go. The only other saddle I will ever buy again is a new Proven.
Summary: Any one looking for a great all around saddle that is lite and easy on your horse and fits you like a glove should look in to getting a Circle Y Proven.
