Purchase: I inherited this saddle from my mother, who originally bought as a set (with a matching bridle and girth) for $300 as a teenager.
Likes: I can't say enough good things about this saddle! It is almost 40 years old, and has held up marvelously! All the parts are original. NOTHING has ever been replaced! The seat has not needed to be restuffed, the leathers are in great condition, and the tree is 100% sound. Even the stitching on the outside has held up through much wear and tear.
I also like the fact it has fit a wide variety of horses throughout the years, and seldom did I find a horse it could not fit.
Dislikes: It is quite a bit heavy, and not a size I would use on small ponies.
Quality: The construction is fabulous. It is obvious that the company that made this saddle really put effort into it. It has shown almost NO wear and tear over 40 years, I think that speaks for itself.
Summary: I am very impressed with this saddle, and have no doubts it will be around long enough for my future children to use. If I could clone it I would!
