Purchase: I first got this saddle through the test ride program from Dover. I had a very limited budget at the time, and paid $899.00 (it was on sale and came with free padded fancy stitched bridle).
Likes: Absolutely nothing, and I wish I had sent it back when given the chance.
Dislikes: When I first took the saddle out of its packaging, it was like cardboard. After reading other reviews, I did as all the other reviewers did and oiled and rolled the flaps until my hands ached to no end. While the seat and the padding on the flaps (which are made from a different leather then the flaps) did get darker and broken in, the flaps remained waxy and hard. Not only did they not get darker, but upon the first few rides, the flaps discolored greatly. The saddle not only was uncomfortable (I thought I had to just break it in) it also has not quite fit any of the horses I have ridden, them all being relatively easy to fit saddle-wise.
Quality: While the pictures in the magazine show a very nicely constructed saddle, in reality it feels like cheap leather with an even worse stitching job. Leather discolors and does not break in despite all my troubles.
Summary: Overall I do not recommend this saddle to anyone. I am now selling it to get something with better quality and value. Wish I could give it no stars but I cant.
