Purchase: I purchased this saddle at www.victorycanter.com for $449.99, which included the entire easy-change gullet system, girth, and slimline stirrup straps. I needed a new schooling saddle to replace my Kincade close contact, because it was constantly ruining my lessons. (Pushing me off of my horse, etc.)
Likes: I LOVE this saddle. It really does look like leather, even though it is just Equileather. Of course it doesn't feel like leather, but it is very supple. I feel when I'm riding that it needs no breaking in, and I feel much more balanced. This saddle has a nice medium deep seat which is GREAT for the experienced rider over tough oxers, or a intermediate rider just getting their balance over fences. This saddle is super comfy, and great for someone with a growing horse or only taking lessons.
Dislikes: No dislikes, it's really a quality saddle. Oh, and Bates MAKES the Wintecs. VERY high quality.
Quality: It has a very solid tree, I love the CAIR panels, they make it so comfortable for my horse. I can feel a big difference in her attitude when I ride her now. It is very good construction, no loose stitching or any problems.
Summary: There is absolutely NOTHING wrong with this saddle. It's extremely easy to take care of, it's comfortable, very high quality, and is so much easier to ride in than my (NEW) Kincade close contact.
