Fly Mask with Ears
Fly Control
Manufacturer: HorseSense
Model: Fly Mask with Ears
Category: Fly Control
Purchase: I bought this fly mask at State Line Tack for $15. One of my geldings had an eye infection, and needed extra protection from insects. It was the only fly mask in the area that came in his size(cob/arab).
Likes: The price was good.
Dislikes: The mesh started to split down the center after a month or two of use. The ears had large heavy seams that irritated him. Also, the eye darts seemed to cave in too often for my liking. He was able to get it off all of the time too, since there is so much elastic on it.
Quality: The mesh might be okay if it were properly sewn together. The seams popped after a few uses, and the whole mask became a frayed mess in a single summer.
Summary: A fly mask is definitely something you'll want to spend a bit more on. Poor quality masks can do significant damage to your horse's eyes--don't waste your money on this mask.
