Purchase: I bought this saddle for a dealer at AQHA Congress, when my old saddle didn't fit my horse. I had been eyeing this saddle for a long time and finally got to see it in person. Mostly the saddle runs above the thousand dollar mark, but this gentleman sold it to me for WAY less.
Likes: This saddle is AMAZING! It fits my horse like a gloves, I've had people ask if I had it made for him. I have a huge foundation bred horse and it fits great. not to mention the saddle is beautiful. The first show I took it to, when I had my horse tied to the trailer and had gone inside my living quarters I came out to see people standing next to my horse looking at my saddle. It is a real head turner. The detailing on the saddle is beautiful. I'm big on bling and this saddle works great with that with the conchos that Alamo put on.
Dislikes: The saddle sits you very far back on your horse, which I'm still getting used too. I have a very strong runner and he always threw me backward when he started in the old saddle now I sit the saddle the whole time. It is taking some getting used to however. But more of that is me having to learn to ride in the saddle, not necessarily the saddle itself.
Quality: Wonderful quality. The tooling is hand done and you can tell! one feature that really makes the saddle stand out is how they continued the tooling pattern onto the suede seat of the saddle. It makes it look so classy. The saddle tree is very nice, the saddle also sits very well on the horse, giving plenty of shoulder room and whither room. On a side note Alamo has guaranteed me that if anything goes wrong with the saddle they WILL fix it. Like if I lose a concho or stitching comes undone. The company itself is very nice about that.
Summary: Overall a fabulous saddle, I tell you this since I have purchased this saddle I have gone to a few races with it on a horse that was running solid 3-d he now runs with the leaders of the pack as a 1-D horse! ( that's no joke) You can defiantly tell the difference in his runs and his performance. I would highly recommend this saddle to all out there. Alamo nailed it with this one.
