Purchase: Bought at a local tack store 4 1/2 years ago for everyday and showing. I think it was around $200.
Likes: Love the buckle ends for easy change of bit. Elegant and sleek design. The padding at the pole is nice and soft. The flash has a guard to keep from pinching and the crank nose band has a nice soft padding too. Stitching has kept up with almost daily use for the past 4 1/2 years. The roller buckles on the crank nose band is a great detail for a very affordable bridle.
Dislikes: In the past year, I did notice the flash has faded a little to a dark brown. Unsure if that is just from over cleaning or my horse drooling so much. The leather is little stiffer, but I think that is just the type of leather verses poor quality. The double raise is a little bit of a pain to clean and the crank part hard to put back together if you are taking it apart to clean.
Quality: Construction and quality of unit is decent, but I think there are much nicer bridles out there at three times the price. In the price range these sell for, it is a great value. The padded poll is not a true comfort poll because the nose band hanger does not go over the head band.
Summary: I think for the price it is a great bridle for everyday and show. I am a firm believer that your everyday should be your show bridle too, so the comfort should be the same without worrying about fit, break in time, etc... The Vespucci bridle has held up well over the years, and I could have the flash redyed or order a new one since that is the only part that is fading.
