Purchase: I purchased this at www.sstack.com last year for my young Paso Fino gelding for $152. I already have the Versatility with 8oz for my mare and LOVE it! Knowing that my gelding loves to play halter & blanket tag with the big boys I figured I would spend a little extra and get the next step up with the 1680 denier ballistic nylon hoping it would stay in one piece.
Likes: I LOVE THIS BLANKET!!! I actually love every blanket I have bought from Schneider's! They last forever! I have had one for 4years now and it is still doing its job! This blanket though is exceptional! It held up perfectly last winter and looks brand new going into its second year. The adjust-a-fit on the neck makes for a perfect, custom fit which is hard to do with my horses. They have narrow withers and most blankets just hang off them and don't cover their chest. I love EVERYTHING about this blanket.
Dislikes: The only thing I could ever complain about with any blanket from Schneider's is their selection of COLORS. I would love to have more to choose from. This one only comes in black and most of the others only have burgundy, navy, green, & black as options.
Quality: The construction on these is wonderful. It's completely waterproof and hasn't leaked at all. The 1680 denier ballistic nylon shell is like iron! Its been put through the wringer with my gelding. The horses he is turned out with grab him by the blanket and pull. Apparently it's great fun! Yet they haven't mad a mark on it!
Summary: I love this blanket and would recommend it to anyone that has a horse that is really hard on blankets! Plus it is guaranteed for 2 years! You can't beat that! You are more then getting your moneys' worth with this one!
I would also say though that if you have a horse that is good with their blankets you could easily get away with one of Schneider's less expensive ones. They are all awesome and the quality on all of them is top notch. My mare who doesn't play so rough outside is still wearing the Versatility I bought her 4years ago. I have just had to retreat the waterproofing.
