Purchase: I purchased this Weatherbeeta Orican medium weight blanket in 2008 at Jeffersequine.com. I paid $105 for it.
Likes: I love the fit and function of this blanket. It fits true to size, so there is no "guessing" or subtracting inches. Blanket stays in place, never shifts or moves out of place. No matter how much my mare rolls or plays. Attractive patterns. We have the black/tangerine color. Very unique and beautiful. The medium weight is perfect for winters in the south. If its used with a sheet, it can work like a heavy blanket.
Dislikes: The only thing that could be improved upon is the ability to wick away the sweat and keep the horse dry and comfortable. It seems that other Blanket brands are far better able to do this, then the Weatherbeeta.
It would also be nice if there were more colors/patterns to choose from. I know this isn't the most important factor in purchasing blankets, but it is a nice option.
Quality: I love that the front of the blanket is adjustable and has buckles for quick on/off. Makes it easier to fit to horses with a wide chest. The fit is perfect and comfortable for the horse. The wither relief is wonderful. So far my mare has never rubbed her mane or coat or shown any discomfort of any kind. Freedom to move around. Some Blankets seem to hinder the horses from moving around comfortably, but with this Weatherbeeta my mare runs and plays and doesn't miss a beat. High quality, the blanket still looks like new. Nothing is broken, torn or damaged in any way.
Summary: This is a solid blanket and the price is quite reasonable for a blanket of this quality. I highly recommend this brand of blankets.
