Purchase: I bought this blanket on Ebay for about $30, plus shipping. I needed a cheap, quick blanket that would last a few months, I bought it as an emergency blanket, second blanket, and a one-season blanket.
Likes: I have now had this blanket for two seasons and I love it! I am very surprised at the craftsmanship of this blanket. It is very durable, very waterproof, and my horse hasn't managed to destroy it. It seems to hold up and fit well even where more expensive blankets don't. I have now bought a couple McAlister blankets for various uses and different horses, and I have been pleased with all of them.
Dislikes: These blankets seem to run big. My horse wears a size 74" in most blankets, but the McAlister size 72" is almost too big. I have all the buckles tightened all the way and it just fits. The opening for the neck is also very wide, if my horse wasn't so beefy his shoulders would probably slip through the blanket.
Quality: Very well built, all the seems have held up, stitching is good, fabric is very sturdy. My horse hasn't even managed to bend the buckles.
Summary: I love this blanket and I would buy more. I would just advise to buy a size smaller than what you are used to, as they seem to run big.
