Purchase: I bought this saddle on sale from Horseloverz.com for $600. Compared to other prices I had seen, it seemed like a good deal. Shipping was fast and product undamaged.
Likes: I love the chestnut color of the saddle. It looks especially amazing on light bay horses (mine!) The tree was true to what they had said (wide), and it fits my horse perfectly. It is very comfortable after being broken in, which was pretty quickly (after a couple days of riding in it.) The color has not faded at all in the past few months. People even come up to me and ask what kind it is and how much I paid for it, and they can't believe it. My trainer says it feels like a 1,500 dollar saddle.
Dislikes: The only thing I can say I don't like about it is the stirrup hooks. It sort of freaks me out, which actually is a good thing because my leg almost never slides back anymore because I don't want to lose a stirrup. Other than that though, it is perfect!
Quality: It is obviously a very nice saddle; the stitching is very neat and doesn't show signs of unraveling, and the color is holding up well. The leather is very supple and soft after it is broken in.
Summary: It is a very nice saddle, and I would definitely purchase another Collegiate. A lot of people at my barn who have ridden it are now buying their own Collegiate!
