Purchase: I bought this online from Ebay for 42.00 with shipping in the Black Cob size.
Likes: I haven't ridden in it yet, but the wither padding seems nice and although it doesn't look like leather, with what I do riding skill matters more than riding. I was worried about it being stiff, but it wasn't really all that stiff.
Dislikes: It was MASSIVE. As soon as I got it I ran out to the horses and slipped it over my mare's neck, and it was MASSIVE. On the smallest setting it was still much too large. I haven't hole-punched it yet, but I do worry that I won't be able to punch through the synthetic. My mare is a 14hh Arabian, and it was wayyy to big on her, and it fit my 16.1hh Paint gelding on the smallest/2nd smallest setting perfectly. Same with the thingies that attach to the saddle (sorry, I'm blanking on the name) are way too big on my mare. They reached halfway down her back! I don't ride there! But on my Paint they worked just fine.
Quality: Seems nice, decent stitching. I think it will hold up to the test of time easily. Looks nice, too. It's not obviously noticeable on the horse.
Summary: I'm going to have to punch more holes, but it seems like a very nice breastplate that will match my saddle well. I would suggest you order a Cob for your horse and a Horse for your draft breed!
