Purchase: I bought this hoof pick for $7 at a local english tack shop. I lost my other hoof pick and needed one. This one was unique in it's design and said on the package that it eliminated thrush by having a special pick design that can get into the deepest pockets/anatomy of hooves so that oxygen can reach it and prevent germs/bacteria from progressing.
Likes: The ergonomic hand grip design is nice and allows me to clean without losing grip/stability. The design of the pick itself is great for getting into every knook and cranny and getting out the dirt, manure, etc. It's also good with getting the hardest places around horseshoes which a regular pick cannot reach.
Dislikes: I would really prefer a brush as part of the design. It gets rather inconvenient reaching for a hoof brush in between picking.
Quality: Stainless steel hardware and cushiony ergonomic hand grip. Pick has a flattened head with a somewhat pointy end. Sturdy made. No brush. Grips come in several different colors. I got purple. Is a bit different and a little heavier when cleaning out your horse's hooves...takes a little "elbow grease" when getting the hard packed debris out.
Summary: Good hoof pick to have on hand, especially if your horse is prone to thrush.
