Purchase: Was recommended by our vet for white line disease recovery, we paid $250, a huge mark up by the vet! I would suggest getting them direct from the company or nearly anywhere but my vet!
Likes: They are very easy to put on and very rugged. My mare wore them outdoors (in dry conditions)for weeks. She seemed comfortable in them and as a cranky senior gal, would have let me know if she didn't like them. The hoof was kept clean, as we hoped. We did remove the boots nightly for the period she is stalled. Also, the boots and inserts are easy to clean.
Dislikes: The boots tended to turn (rotate to some extent) and I needed to adjust them a few times a day. They were properly measured and fit by the vet. At age 26, she doesn't get super active so I am not sure what the problem was. Also, I am not sure how the boots would perform in other than totally dry conditions, as they are open sided.
Quality: My mare wore them daily for several weeks and they are hardly worn at all. Made with heavy-duty canvass, rubber and a rubber-y gel orthotic insert, with velcro-type fasteners.
Summary: I would buy them again if needed (from a different supplier, lol) and do believe they would be very helpful for laminitis/founder recovery. Thankfully most of my horses have similar size/shape hooves and I now have a pair on hand.
