Purchase: I bought this stable blanket at our local feed store when a client sent a horse up to the Texas panhandle (in December) from south Texas without a winter blanket. It was $79.99 and I thought it would work until spring.
Likes: It fit a stocky 3 year old Quarter Horse mare pretty well, and the royal blue color looked really nice on her since she was a bright bay.
Dislikes: It just couldn't hold up to daily wear. I only had it about 2 weeks when the binding near the left flank tore and took a chunk of the lining with it, exposing the fill. After that I was clipping off little hanging pieces at least every other day, and by spring the blanket was a train wreck. This mare was not particularly hard on her blankets either. No rubbing, biting, pulling on it, etc.
Quality: The material just wasn't tough enough to stand up to continuous daily use. It looked nice on the horse when it was new, just not tough enough.
Summary: Would probably be a good blanket for someone who lives where you only have to blanket your horse at night, or every few days. Wouldn't recommend for someone trying to keep a show coat in real winter weather.
