Purchase: I got these boots from Dover Saddlery this 2009 Christmas, and payed $187.00 for them. I wanted a pair of equitation boots for my horse to where at home and at the horse shows.
Likes: These boots have gorgeous stitching and match all of my pessoa tack. The boots oil up really nicely and become very soft and supple once you use them for about a week. These boots are also very easy clean with just a sponge and some glycerin soap after every ride, and they also do perfectly fine in water.
Dislikes: These boots from the very first day I got them slipped down on my junior hunter's legs. I wasn't even jumping that day, and flatted for about 30 minutes, and when I got back in the barn they had slipped down about an inch on her legs. The thing that annoys me is that I had the smallest size could buy of the boot, and they just did not fit her! So I had to sell them.
Quality: They are absolutely beautiful to look at, but the quality of the boot, in use, is not good. The smallest size of the boot did not fit my thick 15.3 hand warmblood. It was quite ridiculous.
Summary: The Bottom Line of these boots is if you have a big horse and want some equitation or jumper boots that look good and hold up in rough weather, GET THESE BOOTS! But, if you have a small junior hunter or a compact jumper or thoroughbred, DONT GET THEM! They do not fit compact or small horses, and slip down really far on the horse on the tightest holes of the boot! Beautifully designed, horribly made.
