Purchase: I bought it at the local tack shop for around $700.
Likes: I have long legs from hip to knee, then short from knee to ankle, so finding a close contact saddle that fit my legs was impossible. My knees seemed 2 miles from the knee rolls in every close contact I tried! I needed a deeper seat to accommodate my legs, and this saddle is the perfect cross between an AP and Jumping saddle! I love where it places me, and it's actually nice that the knee rolls are small and it doesn't have thigh blocks, because it forces you to learn to sit correctly rather than letting you just be held in place.
Because of the deep seat, I feel very secure riding in this saddle, but the seat isn't so deep that it's impossible to get out of it for jumping, which is nice.
Dislikes: I didn't like the color -- I wanted a really dark havana brown, and this was a lighter brown. So I've been using leather dye on it, but it's created dark marks where the stirrup wear is, although I figure that would happen with any saddle, not just this one.
The billets do continuously look dried out, so I'm always conditioning those, but overall the saddle is very nice.
Quality: I LOVE the easy change gullet system, and the quality of the saddle itself seems very good.
Summary: Overall, it's obviously not as high quality as a $3k saddle is going to be, but it's VERY nice quality for something in its price range...I'd be willing to say that as far as AP saddles go (and I looked at a TON of them!!), this is the best one in the Under $1k group!
