Purchase: I got this saddle online from Smith Brothers for $1300, I liked the looks of it and that it has the Martin Saddlery Axis tree in it. Also the saddle is lightweight and looked like a perfect trail saddle
Likes: WOW! This is a really nice comfortable saddle. Good quality, thick leather - looks nice and most importantly, FITS my horse!! The front of the tree has flare to it to accommodate the shoulders. The horse is short & stubby so it doesn't get in the way. Only weighs like 22lbs. It sat well on my horse going up & down steep hills, although I did have a breast collar on it. The saddle has a padded seat, so quite comfy for me too. It is very much like the saddle made for Clinton Anderson by Martin Saddlery, but doesn't look Aussie ish and is less expensive!
Dislikes: Nothing really - it is new, so it is squeaky. I think the Conchos look a little cheesy/low quality. They can be replaced and will be. The fenders were not preturned, so I had to do that myself.
Quality: Well made, tight stitching, stainless steel hardware. Looks like the saddle will last a long time of good use.
Summary: Excellent trail saddle that fits my difficult to fit horse, comfortable for me and I plan to spend many miles in this saddle!!
