Purchase: I bought this saddle used at a local tack shop, Rick's Heritage Saddlery. It was a consignment saddle that the owner agreed to take $1,400 for. A great price for a saddle in very good to excellent condition. New the sell for around $3,300.
Likes: This saddle has a narrow comfortable twist. The knee rolls are big and really help keep the legs in the proper position without making it feel forced. This saddle also has a secure deep seat that is non-restrictive.
Dislikes: The only thing I would change if possible is the leather. The model up has the Ultima (grippy textured) leather. Would love to have this model.
These saddles are also expensive to adjust. The Albion reps do wonderful work but do not come cheap. They also will only adjust the tree one time and will only adjust it one size larger. They will not adjust the tree to a smaller size. I had 2 separate Albion adjusters tell me the same thing.
Quality: Beautiful saddle. Well constructed and holds up well. Top quality saddle.
Summary: Great saddles and would buy another. Newer models now have trees and panels that can be swapped out so that you can adjust this saddle to fit any horse for the life of the saddle.
