Dislikes: This is the most bizarre/bad fitting piece of horse clothing I've ever bought. I talked to a customer service rep. to help ensure I got the right cut for my huge, stocky QH mare. They suggested the Euro Cut because it is bigger/boxier in the chest than the fitted cut and said that's what everybody with QHs use. Ok, that sounded great.
I made it VERY clear that the horse is an old fashioned bulldog QH, built like a brick outhouse. She measures 76" center of chest to center of tail, and wears a 76" in just about every other blanket and sheet brand on the market. The lady told me what to buy and said to get the 76" because these fit true to size.
Ok - well, WRONG! The sheet is long enough down the center line with the tail flap fitting perfectly right at the dock of tail like it should. But the belly band lacks 10" of going around the horse on the longest setting. The chest buckles lacked 3-4" of being able to close. The drop in the shoulders was literally down past the horse's knees.
I put it on my little Paso mare who normally takes a size 68". I could buckle it on the last holes on the chest, and the belly band just BARELY fit around her on the longest setting. It was still very tight though. And of course the back of the sheet and tail flap hung off her butt by a few inches.
So this 76" actually fit more of a 68" horse once you pull it way forward on the neck to get the chest straps buckled.
So bizarre. I've never seen anything cut so stupid before.
I also bought the matching neck cover and fly boots and the fit on those were every bit as awful. Neither even came close to fitting any horse on my farm. Their Size Medium fly boots, which supposedly fit a 15 hand Quarter Horse wouldn't have fit a shetland pony. I'd have had to buy the size XL to fit my Arabs and they wouldn't have had anything bit enough for my big horses.
Quality: Heavy textilene mesh with good, heavy duty hardware. The construction seemed very durable and high quality.
Summary: I'll give it a "2" on the scale because the construction does seem to be extremely high quality. The fit was awful.
This was the first time I've ordered horse clothing from Scheiders, and I won't do it again. I talked to another lady about this who said she bought exactly one horse blanket from Schneider's and the cut was so bad she ended up throwing it on the floor for a dog bed.
