Manufacturer: Kerrits
Model: Sit Tight N' Warm Full Seat Breeches
Category: English Show Apparel

Purchase: I bought these breeches from the Dover Saddlery Catalog for about $70 on sale. I didn't have any winter full seats and I liked the idea of the "tacky seat."

Likes: They are extremely well made, durable and the seat truly does help you "stick" to the saddle - they provided me a wonderful feeling of security even during spooks. I was skeptical of the "flow rise" waist because I am very long waisted and simply cannot wear anything low rise without risking "plumbers butt" but this design fit me well and the belt loops are a very nice added feature; using a belt really helped them stay in place.

Dislikes: They are not nearly as warm as the advertising copy led me to believe. They do have a layer of fleece on the inside but it's a thin one. I live in the midwest where winters can drop well below 0 - and we ride in temps as cold as 10 or 15 degrees. I would say these breeches are not designed to keep the rider warm much below 40. For temps 40-60 they are fine. For anything colder, I needed to reach for something with thicker insulation.

Quality: Excellent. No complaints. Nice heavy elastic at the ankle, small, tight stitching, quality materials.

Summary: These are quality breeches, just not as warm as I had hoped. Perhaps Kerrits will come out next year with warmer ones? Because of this I am rating them a 4. If they were really warm, I'd give them a 5.
