Purchase: I purchased this pair of boots new from eBay for $205.00, a steal since they run $279.99 through Dover Saddlery. My last pair of winter tall boots were made by Mountain Horse and fell apart after 1 year of use. Needing a new pair and looking for longevity as well as comfort and style, of course I had to go with Ariat's best model of winter tall boot.
Likes: The boots are very attractive, nice enough to wear to those colder shows in the early spring or late fall weather. The boot is made of waterproof leather with a suede panel on the inside of the calf for a little extra grip. I like the full length back zipper - makes for a very easy on and off, and the faux laces in the front give it the look of a field boot. Most importantly, the boots are incredibly warm and keep your feet dry. The footbeds are very comfortable and supportive. There is also not much extra bulk, which is commonly a problem with winter boots.
Dislikes: I wear a size 8, and a regular calf in normal tall boots fits with a little bit of wiggle room. I think the calf size may run a little smaller on these boots - but not enough to make a huge difference since they feature a stretch panel.
Quality: The boots are waterproof full grain leather with a waterproof membrane. Primaloft insulation and Dri-Lex plaid lining inside the boots. Features a full-length back zipper and a stretch leather back panel. Traditional field boot style, with spur rests and a Duratread Outsole.
Summary: Finally found a PERFECT winter tall boot - I am fully confident they will outlast anything i've ever had before in far better style.
