Purchase: Bought lightly used from a tack store in 2003 for $1700.
Likes: This saddle is absolutely beautiful. The reddish brown and tan color is outstanding, and it has held up very well in the 7 years I've had it. It truly is a Cadillac of a saddle!
I have found that this saddle has fit just about every horse I've put it on, and the horses seem to really enjoy the saddle. It's comfortable for the rider, too.
County claims that the special tree in this saddle helps distribute the rider's weight on the landing side of the jump. I would believe it! My horses seemed very happy in the saddle on the landing side by staying very relaxed and steady, as opposed to their subtle head tossing protest they gave when I would ride in the Collegiate Convertible that I have.
Dislikes: Over time, my legs outgrew the less-forward flaps, so I couldn't shorten my stirrups enough. But if you prefer to ride with a longer stirrup, this is the saddle for you!
Another thing I don't like is the price. But it's well worth it!
Quality: Superior quality - made in England. The saddle has stood up to lots of abuse over the years.
Summary: A great saddle! It's expensive, but really worth the price. If you can't afford a new one, I would advise you to search for a used one. The saddle will still hold up for years to come!
