Purchase: I paid $99.90 for these stirrup leathers from Dover Saddlery. I bought the Children's size because even though I'm 22, I am 5'2", and I have a slightly longer torso than legs.
Likes: The color was perfect and matched my Ashland II saddle perfectly. I got them in Oakbark. The Children's leathers were 48" long and came in a 3/4" width. They looked great and I liked their thinness and the length when ridden in worked perfectly.
Dislikes: EVERYTHING!
Quality: After my first ride, which was about 20 minutes long, I got off and looked at my new leathers and noticed that the surface cracked everywhere and exposed this sort of foam filled middle. I'm talking they cracked EVERYWHERE, not only in places of high stress. I sent them back to Dover thinking they were a fluke pair and got another pair of the same Pessoa leathers. After 10 minutes of riding, they cracked again! Leather regardless of it being cold out and making it brittle should not crack to the point where it looks like it may snap!
Summary: Bottom line is that these leathers are trash. I would have expected more from Olympian Rodrigo Pessoa products, considering he is an Olympian. However, people, do your research. I was bummed I had to put Dover through so much hell and I had to go through sending these pieces of trash leather back. I would NEVER recommend anyone buy these. I honestly don't think I would buy any Pessoa leather goods after this experience.
