Purchase: I bought this saddle about five years ago when it had first came out and I paid a little over $3,000 for the saddle. I bought this saddle at a local tack shop, brand new, but they can be bought for less at beval.com. The Beval LTD2's price is more reasonable now that it has been out for a few years. I bought this saddle as a upgrade form a close-contact equitation saddle with no padding whatsoever!
Likes: I LOVE this saddle!!!!!!!!!! And I have done everything thing with it from 'A' hunter shows, to fox hunting, to eventing, to jumper shows, to paperchases, to hunter paces, to trail riding, to lessons, and hunter trails and everything in between!!! While it is a close contact equitation saddle, it is flat but very well padded. Beautiful leather! Cleans up very nice Terrific quality.
Dislikes: Beval saddles all run short on the leg length so I sugest trying the saddle and possibly riding in it if possible. Do not let this saddle get wet its is delicate and the calf skin will water stain, this is a saddle that demands proper maintainence. I suggest this saddle to someone who os a serious rider, not just a weekend warrior.
Quality: Beautiful quality! All french calfskin except saddle flap which is beautiful grain leather for durability. A fairly flat saddle but vey well padded. Extremely well built, typical Beval!
Summary: I love this saddle, I would buy it again! And you should look into it!
