Purchase: Ordered through State Line Tack catalog last summer. I was very pleased with my wintec saddle and have little time for cleaning tack so I decided to give their bridle a try. I paid around $50 with shipping. I did not buy the matching reins.
Likes: As I get older I get more lazy and have less time for taking care of my tack. Stiff fingers sometimes make it hard to take a bridle apart for cleaning as often as it should be. I was looking for something easier but was wary of getting something cheaply made and uncomfortable for my horse.
The wintec bridle looks and feels like real leather without the maintenance. It's very flexable and soft. I thought it might get stiff in cold weather but it doesn't. I live in north Florida and we have a problem with mold here in summer (especially on freshly oiled tack). With the synthetic bridlework there is no oiling. I just clean with soap and water and dry. It does not stretch or twist and keeps it's shape. It also adjusts for fit just like a traditional leather bridle. You can ride in the rain and not have to treat the bridle afterwards. Just wipe it down. It doesn't scratch as easily as leather. It has all the keepers and quality fittings (haven't rusted) that come on higher priced bridles. I have had other riders look closely at this bridle and can't tell it's not leather. It's fine for showing in. Can you tell I love this bridle? I've had it for a while now and Still love it.
Dislikes: For me it's not a problem as I use black tack. Unfortunately it only comes in that color, so someone looking for brown is out of luck.
I also did not like the wintec logo on the brow band so I changed that part out with a custom band.
Other than that I can't think of anything else negative and I'm tempted to order the matching reins.
Quality: Excellent quality. No loose stitching or connections. Looks like a leather bridle.
Summary: Would buy this bridle again. Love the ease of maintenance!
