Purchase: I bought this item at Farm Choice on sale for $110 February 3, 2009. I purchased it as a replacement blanket for our 9 year old QH because the Schneider's blanket that she had was rubbing her withers & we thought that part of the reason it was doing so was because it was a little too big and it seemed to slide back too far. Wish we would've kept it & tried padding it at the withers because it is still going strong on a stallion at the farm! I accidentally reviewed this item earlier as an Ozark Mountain which is not the correct brand name

Likes: After 1 year there are no tears in the blanket, but that is the only good thing I can say about it.

Dislikes: This blanket has faded to almost white which wouldn't be bad, but within 2 months of wear, both belly straps broke at the hooks. When I contacted the manufacturer they said that the hook was "meant" to break & that they could be replaced. I've never seen hooks break in the way that they have. The replacement straps both broke within a week & Mae is not hard on her "clothes." Now after a year the blanket is leaking and 2 cans of Scotchguard isn't enough to stop it.

Quality: While the material seems to be sturdy (no tears), the hooks on the belly bands are far too light for the use intended.The latch part bends outward. Whatever waterproofing was used, is not good enough quality, either.

Summary: I thought for the money that I spent I was buying a good quality blanket (originally $150 blanket) - I was WRONG. Save your money & buy another brand. If you buy an Ozark Leather item, don't expect any customer support - you won't get it. This blanket was recommended in one of the horse magazines (can't remember which one), which was another reason I bought this brand, but the reviewer was misled or didn't follow up as well as should have been!
