Purchase: I purchased four of these turnouts from Valley Vet to use for occasional turnout. The first set I paid $119.95 and the second set I paid $149.95.
Likes: I have four Arabians and loved the fit on all but one of them. The coolplus lining was pretty cool. None of them sweated. Better yet, I could put the blankets on a damp horse, and it would allow them to dry. My horses wore these blankets for four straight days with no shifting or rubbing, and no leaking. Even with record snowfall (for Texas), my horses stayed warm and dry.
Dislikes: My largest is Arab is 15.2 and quite wide. His blanket was a bit small in the chest for him. Also, the color selections are very limited and the leg straps were cheaply made with little to no elastic and very short.
Quality: Overall, the construction and quality appear to be superb. However, two of these blankets ripped significantly within the first 1-2 days of use. One rip appeared to be from a biting horse while the other rip appeared to be from a rub.
Summary: These blankets are great in fit, breathability and in waterproof capabilities. However, if you have a horse that is a biter, a rubber, or at all hard on blankets, this blanket is not for your horse. Also, the warranty is a joke. I tried to use the warranty on the ripped blankets mentioned above. Essentially, you pay about $10-15 less than the cost of new blanket. You're better off to wait for a seasonal clearance sale or buy a DuraTech blanket from Schneiders for a lot less money.
