Purchase: Purchased from a local feed store about 6 years ago for $60.00, I was in need of a blanket for a rescued quarter horse mare in the middle of winter. Lime green in color it has surprisingly done its job.
Likes: I like the fit and construction of the blanket. It's thick, but also allows air to move through. I have washed it once a year for the past 5 years of use in a washing machine with few stains remaining. The use of the blanket is still on the same mare in a paddock with run in shed and tree. No rips have shown yet and I have had no problem with the hardware. She wears the blanket for about three months out of the year in extreme cold weather.
Dislikes: One thing about the blanket is the quality of "craftsmanship." As with other blankets of this price, stitching has come loose along the tail flap, which I have had no problem repairing. The color has faded somewhat, but after a wash usually bounces back.
Quality: The hardware has held up nicely for constant weather exposure, including snow, rain, tons of mud, and horse rolling.
Summary: Nice blanket if you don't have a couple hundred dollars to spend. I got another one last year for my new horse and so far it has held up to constant use in the three winter months.
