Purchase: this saddle was a christmas present from my dad and grandmother in 2005, ( almost 5 years). i am from france, and got this saddle in france. it cost 450 euros, which is approximately 600 dollars. i asked for a saddle because i have been riding my whole life in france, and i just moved to USA, where i purchased my first TB mare. i needed an all purpose saddle because she was coming out of racing track and needed a lot of flatwork done.
Likes: i love everything about it. my mare had a lot of energy, and so, needed a saddle that could keep my body from moving less possible, feeling the horse's moves nicely. i did a lot of flatwork, jumping and basic dressage with her, the saddle could not have been better, i felt comfortable everyday, no problems for jumping, my legs were well kept. i have used this saddle for 5 years, worked in a breeding farm with ponies and horses, my saddle fit every single horse, pony i had to ride. the quality of the leather is really good, no problems at all breaking into it, still in excellent conditions even after all the hard work i have done. the leather is still shiny and really flexible.
Dislikes: although the leather is of excellent conditions, i have had some troubles with the billets.
i used it on my mare for 2 years on the same hole, that now, wear signs of use.
also, working at a breeding farm, riding different horses everyday, i have to keep changing the girth on the billets, who started to have signs of use too.
Quality: the purpose is mostly made for flatwork and some jumping, probably not higher stages of jumping but good enough for me, who jumps up to 1m20 ( not sure in inches)
the saddle is not really made for dressage, but simple basic dressage is possible.
Summary: all in all, fantastic saddle, great price, and i love it, still uses it and probably will have it for a long time!
definitely will recommend it !
