Purchase: My mare's five year old turnout sheet finally bit the dust, so I replaced it with this one from Smarkpak for about $119 plus shipping.
Likes: It is a lovely piece of horse clothing - 1200 denier polyester outer, nice mesh lining, clip and dees at the chest, comes in nice color combinations.The leg straps are thoughtfully made with elastic inserts. And it has a nice long drop that provides good coverage.
Dislikes: It doesn't have any velcro at the chest closing. This is always a nice plus in a horse blanket or sheet.
I think all horse blankets and sheets should be constructed with a shoulder cup at the point of the shoulder, and a gusset just beneath - as that seems to be where the majority of rubs occur. This type of configuration could eliminate all rubbing.
I also would like all blankets to have longer, wider tail flaps
Quality: Top notch. Quality hardware, good stitching. It runs true to size. It's a quality piece of horse clothing.
Summary: This is a very nice sheet. I would not hesitate to recommend it. I just wish the horse blanket industry would put the gussets at the point of the shoulder - in front - and not at the side. It's the points that get rubbed.
