Purchase: Purchased 3 of these blankets off of Ebay from TackRUs for 3 Thoroughbreds with a cost of $65 each including shipping.
Likes: We liked the color choices and the fact that the blankets had a 400gm weight, were waterproof with no back seam, had a tail flap, two front buckles, two belly straps and two removable, adjustable elastic leg straps. They were affordable and in stock.
Dislikes: We disliked the neck opening as it is quite large and the blankets rest more on the back of the withers than on the neck.
The buckles in the front seem to be of substandard strength. Also, there is no velcro in the front to keep the straps secure.
Quality: The blankets are made nicely with good quality materials. They are indeed waterproof. The hardware is strong except for the two front buckles. The sizing seems to be appropriate to our measurements.
Summary: Two of the blankets have held up well, however on one blanket, shortly after purchase, the two front buckles just snapped. This one in particular puzzled me as it was on our most calm Thoroughbred. The buckles look good but are not the best.
The neck sizing seems to be off as we have two well built TB's and one typical, young TB in stature...none of the blankets fit well in the neck. We had to purchase shoulder guards to prevent rubbing and a good amount of hair loss.
I will say that TackRUs stood behind their product as they reimbursed me the money to replace the buckles. However, I do not think I will be purchasing these blankets again due to the neck sizing.
