Purchase: I purchased this off of ebay for $300.00.
Likes: Nice to look at. Pretty havana color. Comfortable for the horse and rider. I just needed a low level huntseat saddle for my daughter to show in. She primarily shows saddle Seat, so I had no idea about Hunt Seat. We ended up buying a Stubben, but this is a nice, functional saddle.
Dislikes: The leather seems stiff. I have oiled it and oiled it, but I don't know. I had an old Avante Saddle Seat saddle when I was a child and it was my "everyday" saddle, not a show saddle, and I remember thinking it was great. I don't know if I think this saddle is great. Too stiff of leather... The knee rolls are soft, and so is the seat. Maybe that is the important place for soft leather to be!
Quality: I seems very well made. It could last through World War III. The toughest leather imaginable! But the stirrup bars are good, everything fit and sound.
Summary: Maybe a nice saddle for training. Passable for breed hunter shows. Really appreciate the Stubben and Satterlei that we have now!
