Purchase: I was able to get this saddle for $485 from a local tack shop as the dealer had to make a certain number of sales to keep his license so he practically gave these away. However, they retail for over $850.
Likes: This is a very comfortable saddle and it has a deep seat to keep you secure, but not deep enough so that you can't get out of the saddle enough for jumping. The tree is well balanced and the leather is a beautiful color. It is very well balanced, and keeps me in a great position. I also like how it has thigh blocks in addition to the normal knee rolls.
Dislikes: I wish the pommel had a narrower twist but the deeper seat makes up for it. I like the placement and size of the knee rolls and thigh blocks, but for some people it would be a plus if they were removable. the leather does squeak a bit but I'm hoping once it breaks in it will stop. That's another thing, it's going to take a while to break it in, but for the price it is well worth it!
Quality: The tree appears to be very sound. However, the sizes do run a bit small, I needed a wide tree for my Quarab who can normally fit into a medium. the leather isn't top notch, but it isn't bad either.
Summary: This is a nice saddle, but I have ridden in better. It is amazing for what I paid for it, but if you can afford to pay the retail price, I would go with a Collegiate, HDR, or M. Toulouse instead.
