Purchase: I, like many, have been on the saddle search for years. When I discovered the Specialized Saddle in North Carolina I was FINALLY able to understand what saddle fit was, mostly because I saw it with my own eyes due to the fact the rep was using bare trees, and then demoed the tree under a finished saddle. WOW, now I can see what I need to know I thought. I rode in every one of the models until it started to rain. What a great thing to finally ride in a saddle I'm thinking about! And the best part is I was able to learn how to shim each one to fit my horse, and my second horse. While each saddle brand out there has good and bad points, truly without the fit you have no horse, and only this saddle was able to adjust as often as needed. The only problem was which model to pick, as each one was very nice. It's a balanced seat, they've improved on the seating comfort for the rider, and I can do it myself. The new tooling options are fantastic. There are several new western models coming out as well. There is absolutely no break in what so ever. Very lightweight. My horse was so obviously "light in the hand and leg" when being ridden out of pain, what a huge difference! My second equine is a mule and the rep even shimmed this equine...wow.
Likes: Fitting ability myself, lightweight, many style options to choose from, custom designed, great leather and workmanship.
Fits mules, ponies and horses.
Dislikes: waiting, I have to wait for my new saddle to be built but I know now that it will be my last wait 'cause its' the last time I'll have to buy a saddle.
Quality: Quality is really improved, finishing work and tooling is wonderful. I've talked to riders who are in the same cushions for over five years. They never shift as some riders might think. this leather gets better with age, not worse.
Summary: Everyone should ride in this saddle...your horses will be smiling large and your vet, chiro and massage bills will cease.
