Purchase: I bought my saddle from the CWD Sellier company through the nearest representative for my region. I got it for an amazing price - about half of the new models today. It was used but in great condition and had recently gotten new buffalo knee rolls and a buffalo seat to go along with the entire grained buffalo saddle.
Likes: I LOVE my saddle! The leather is so tacky, you feel so connected to the horse when riding in it. The seat is perfectly balanced and the knee rolls aren't so big they lock you in, but are squishy enough to let you get a nice grip. The blocks are triangular and are perfectly positioned to allow maximum comfort and contact. The billets are not too long. Where my calf hits the end of the flap the leather is not bulky whatsoever so you can really wrap yourself around the mount.
Dislikes: There isn't anything I don't like about this saddle. The leather scratches a bit easily but can get cleaned up nicely with some Tattersall soap and Passier Lederbalsam.
Quality: This saddle is EXTREMELY well made. The French grained buffalo leather is beautiful and the full buffalo knee rolls and seat are simply luxurious. The stiching is tight and neat, and even the knee blocks are squishy. It is the most comfortable saddle I have ever sat in! The dark brown color is gorgeous and much prettier than all the two-tone saddles out there now. It cleans up beautifully.
Summary: I love the saddle with a passion. The tacky leather, perfect close contact and gorgeous color make it ideal. I am a hunter and equitation rider and this saddle is PERFECT for those disciplines... but I am also an avid fochunter which works just as well. I reccommend this saddle, it is a great investment and is worth the price - you'll never want to ride in a different saddle again!
