Purchase: I bought this saddle new from The Bridle Path in Ada, MI in 2002. I can't recall exactly how much I paid for it, but it was under $500
Likes: It's easy to care for and durable. It's a nice saddle for the price range. The equisuede knee rolls give sufficient grip. The adjustable knee blocks are great. The easy change gullet system has been wonderful with using this saddle on multiple horses and being able to adjust it when a horse loses or gains weight/fitness.
Dislikes: The CAIR panels don't seem to do what they're supposed to. You can actually feel where each of the air bags are and the gap between them. Surely the horse can feel it as well. The panels are too squishy, so I've had to use a riser pad on every horse I've ever put it on to keep it balanced.
Quality: The construction is great. I've used and abused this saddle for 8 years and it still cleans up great. The only noticeable wear is the knee rolls have starting pilling some, which you no one can see when you're mounted anyhow. The design of the panels could use improvement and they may have improved on that with their new line.
Summary: If you don't have big budget, this a good saddle for you. The easy change gullet system is wonderful for using on multiple horses. If I were going to buy another, I would take the wool panels over the CAIR.
