Purchase: I bought this saddle custom made for me and my horse directly from Mary Stack. I could locate no manufactured saddles to fit my horse. Mary herself came out with a tree and fit it to my horse. I told her it rocked from front to back pinching the horses back. She said she would fix it. The saddle cost me $1800.
Likes: The unit was well made and beautiful. It had quality Herman Oak leather and awesome workmanship.
Dislikes: The saddle never fit my horse. It pinched and rocked and never sat level She is a wide bodied paint resembling a draft cross. The saddle perched on her back like a frog. When mounting it completely rolled.
Quality: The quality was hard to beat....Beautiful.....No complaints on construction.
Summary: I asked Mary to please come and see the fit of this saddle. She was ill and never got out to see it. She argued that the horse must have changed in size for it to not fit. There was never an offer to make the saddle fit right. I did not want a refund, I wanted a saddle that fit. I finally had a tack store sell it for me. i recovered $575. The saddle had been on the horse once. It ended up measuring to be a semi quarter horse bars saddle. I got a real education on this one. I learned to fit the tree to the horse myself. I have no recourse because the lady passed away.
