Purchase: I purchased this saddle over ten years ago from a local tack store for approximately $750.
Likes: I LOVE THIS SADDLE! I have several thoroughbreds that fit this saddle perfectly. It is comfortable and has worn beautifully. Within the last year I have had several minor repairs where some of the leather has worn through. This is after 10 years of heavily being used 2 to 3 rides a day five days a week. The flex in the tree allows for a little give in the withers, and the wool flocked panels have held up over time and are supportive over the horse's top line. I've jumped up to 4'6'' in this saddle, and it is comfortable and forward enough to handle a quick jumper course while still being cozy for a long trail hack and every day flatwork.
Dislikes: As far as the "E-Motion" concept flex tree, it does not fit medium to medium wide horses...It does flex, however leaves dry spots on wider horses where there is just a little too much pressure.
Quality: The construction is wonderful, the leather has held up beautifully over time. I oil it a few times per year and it holds a deep rich color. The surface leather has stayed supple and strong, and the stitching is not even beginning to wear.
Summary: Ten years after purchasing this saddle, I'm in the market for a new saddle to show in...I've looked around and tried many different saddles. None of them come close to the Arosa, and I'm planning to purchase another Arosa for show and continue to ride in my original as it has many rides left in it.
